Smartn.me Seeking: Feedback, Partners, & Customers. Which One Applies To You?

Hello PartnerUp community! I recently (soft) launched my company smartn.me, which is a crowdfunding platform for education. I'm in need of a few early adopting users to try it out! So, if you or someone you know is seeking a DEBT FREE way to fund education (College Students, Grad. Studies, Art Schools, Study Abroad, Research, Certifications, Specialized training....ETC.) Check us out! I'm also interested in hearing your feedback on the website, business idea, and possible collaborations. Thanks in advance!

Hi Tiffany,
Conceptually speaking, I think its a great idea. However, students have to actively campaign for their funds (am I correct?) and this may prove difficult as they may lack the experience.
It would be great if the site includes memberships for those who would donate. (unless this is already provided... I'm not clear about how it works)
Cheers,

Hi Tiff, I have an Identity Theft Protection Business that I am just about ready to release. I have contracts with 4 nationwide companies to distribute the services. I am indeed of not much $$, about $250k, in funding and wondering if this will work for my needs. I beat out LifeLock and IDGuard for these contracts too.

Unfortunately smartn.me is only for students who are interested in furthering their education. There are some other niche crowdfunding sites specifically for startup companies and entrepreneurs though. Chek out this list http://cashtostart.com/10-crowdfunding-websites-entrepreneurs/ - Tiffany Williams 11 on 2/8/2012

Thank you. - Jeffrey Thruber 6 on 2/8/2012

Hi Cass! Thanks for taking the time to offer your feedback. I think that the lack of users makes it difficult to see how the process will come together.
I will start by addressing that the site is for students, and educators, ages 17 to 100+, and not just limited to college freshman. The bigger picture is to get students more involved in the funding process because often times they sign off on years of debt due to that lack of experience. You don't have to pay for 4 years at a time, but more like semesters, room & board, application & travel fees, ETC. Hopefully these students who are pursuing a higher ed. will have the experience and work ethic to be able to successfully pull their resources together and fund-raise.
Secondly anyone can join smartn.me. Like I said it just looks a little bare right now because of the lack of users. Somewhere down the line we may make the non-campaigning members more visible.
Hope this clears up any confusion :) . Thanks again Cass.

Hi Tiffany,

I help take raise kids in single parent families and I have four kids: Allison 17, Brennen 10, Anna 9 and Brian 7 that need some school funding. Is this an option with your program?
