Looking to start small..need help

I am open to starting a business. I have had partners in the past that either lost desire, had zero risk tolerance, or just turned out to be lazy when push came to showe. I am NOT any kind of business expert. But what I am is someone who is highly motivated to make something work. I have had a cleaning business, a real-estate holding company, a nonprofit (that business structure is actually still in place), and I ventured into manufacturing most recently. I know this sounds like a lot, but they all were extremmly small ventures--that really did not yield much. So if anyone is interested in a possible partnership (something small to start) please reach out to me. I am really open to any kind of business idea. Even if you dont have an idea, but together want to brainstorm and see what we can do, I am 100% open to that.. My name is James. Thanks.

As a business owner of a small but successful business my self, I have a few tips for you.

1. Only invest in something you your self have prior work experience in that field. This insures you your self understand what you’re investing in completely.
2. If it sound to good to be true, it likely is to good and likely a scam
3. Cash Only!
4. Talk is cheap. Show me real profit margins or show me nothing.

Something I’ve learned as a business man and something taught to me while in college was most businesses are formed by former employee’s or people who worked in the field prior to starting their own business. These businesses tend to be more successful and have a higher chance of success. Simply because there is little too no learning curve involved. I will also state the obvious that a investor is more likely to invest in someone with prior experience and knowledge. Honestly is just a more sound investment then someone who has no prior knowledge. I’m not saying you can’t make it happen with out prior experience but it makes start up a lot easier. Other wise you may have a large startup expense.
