A Thai to start business in the US

I am a Thai citizen. I would like to move to the US and invest in a small business in Delaware or Pennsylvania. My sons are studying on scholarship at a private boarding school in PA. The business I am now exploring is in international trading. Thailand is in high demand of used paper pulp. I am looking for some recommendations for several things, since I am new, such as local partners, market data, financing, legal, and etc. - all that are related to setting up a successful business in the US. Any suggestions would be helpful to me.

Try to get help from Chambers of Commerce where your sons study and/or live. There you may find a list of local businesses. And beware, also get help from your son's school - if they study business.

Good luck!

Visit the web site for the suppliers.

It is very easy to setup business in any US state you want. Can even be done online.

Sawasdee. I served as a consultant to a firm in Nakornchaisri, Nakhornpathom and was in residence for one year. Your sons are likely here on H-1B Visa? There is a push in USA for creating "entrepreneur visa". There are political discussions going on about this so your timing could be good. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704402404574525772299940870.html
You should contact Pennsylvania Community and Economic Development http://www.newpa.com/index.aspx Pennsylvania has a trade representative Sarath Kumar Menon in SE Asia (Singapore) representing Thailand. Please contact Larry Nelson lanelson@state.pa.us and he will direct you accordingly. They can match you to a US business or partner or help you establish your business in Pennsylvania. Good luck.
