Linda, your stats are completely wrong. I happen to own a marketing data company and our solutions include email data and turnkey campaigns along with postal mailing lists AND mobile data for text messaging. Our delivery rates for marketing emails typical range in the 70-95% range, and most often hover around the 80-85% range. An ESP that only succeeds in getting 22% of emails delivered likely is not paid up on their "white licensing" or has a very poor sender reputation. Response rates are also typically much stronger than what you have posted. You might find it helpful to check out the Direct Marketing association's latest survey results regarding this topic. edit
