well Time is money.

this is real story ::

i am running about 30+ websites and initially I was thinking the same.. i can do seo by myself and dont need any professional .. same case for design of my websites also..

the outcome will be very average, not worth your time and money... just wastage of efforts..

sometimes, we need to hire professional and get an upper edge over competitors..

I am sorry to say that the need for SEO persons is long gone. A blog delivers SEO for free almost automatic when set up correctly with the right traning to help you manage your SEO like the free WP Plugin called all in one SEO package it's free!! I can land links first page first few links within days at no cost. to myself and that's what we teach and employ.

Why is this so you ask?, because it's about content and the way people search for that content online. things are way different so before your friend goes any further. He needs to take a brake to build up his social media presents.

I am not trying to bash anyone, I just know in my heart that I need to teach others about ways to become there own PR in a sense. There is so much room for making money with sponsors and more using his social media channels.

Think about this when you look for a consultant. Do they just do the tasks or do they teach you to do it for yourself.

Best wishes if you need me I am here.

well blog is required but thats just 1 part of seo..

remember basic of seo::

Content is King and backlinks are queen.

I also love blogging but that alone will not do anything.

Just sharing this tip.. may be I am wrong, its just my personal experience, I think even backlinks are the one which counts in search results and not even content..

I have seen a friends website, created 1 month before and now top ranking in google results just because of backlinks only..

Well Blogger I have to disagree to a degree (hehe). There is much need of a SEO in certain situations. Many asp.net and php sites need url rewrites to make their urls friendly. A good portion on php carts are notorious in this regards.

Many asp.net applications have to deal with a wall of view state that hinders indexing as well as performance.

As far as a good portion of web apps I have used and reviewed over the years, 95% are not W3C compliant. A trend I see to much is that the developers focus on getting their dynamic database site apps going , throw in a rewrite for friendly urls and call it seo friendly. Another example is asp.net masterpages. Many will put their meta tags in the site master which causes all the content pages to have the same tags. The right way is to put the meta tags in the content pages in the first content placeholder. A simple thing, but I see it done wrong all the time.

When I am working on a site I keep all this in mind. Sure SEO isn't like it was in the 90's, but it can sure help if you know what you are doing, and the end customer is always pleased when they have a wc3 tag on their site along with the good looks and functionality.

Thanks Chris Sometime you need to wade in the water before the tide comes in and people start using some trerms. Most of that traffic comes through picture from picapp plugin has all the keywords in them when you paste.

I also have links in front of Millions of links for some terms.
