SCORE counselors in Central Florida have a client with an existing software patent on creating and managing relational databases, modeled on how the human mind is perceived to operate. Our client believes that this patent may invalidate several patents that others have achieved subsequently. Our client is aware of a company that has used such patents in a successful product that is currently being used by the technical giants of the world. Before embarking on costly litigation, he would like to get a preliminary assessment of whether any of these patents overlap with his patent.
1) Is there anyone available with strong experience in relational database architectures who would be willing to review, under non-disclosure, both our client's patent and several others to give a preliminary view of whether there is overlap?
2) Alternatively, is there anyone who could broker an introduction between our client and a suitably qualified computer database scientist, perhaps in an academic environment, who might be willing to undertake such an analysis either pro bono or for a future stake in the outcome?
