pitch the bloggers in your industry when you are ready to launch... don't underestimate the amount of traffic they are able to drive with a post about your site.

Some of the most basic cost effective ways to increase traffic today are blogs, as moneymaker08 mentioned, forums, etc. Create topics that your demographic will appeal to. You can possibly discuss tips on improving gas mileage, repairs, do's and dont's, what drivers need to know (About their vehicles etc. Give them topics or explain key things people need to know. Research shows that blogs increase brand awareness, and establish credibility to your target consumers, which basically means they will come back to the original site to discuss other cocnepts. From there you can create an online store and sell parts for vehicles. All concpets cost you the business owner little to nothing, but a huge return in the process.

bizdevguy,

Create unique content on your trends site and then try to find relevant discussions on other sites in your target market and bring up the content as part of the discussion. Don't spam, just include it as informative 3rd part content which helps to further elaborate things. Such content linking goes a long way in moving people to your site.

Also SEO link optimization from a firm also helps a great deal; but you can do allot on your own by simply networking your content with other peoples content where allowed.

In addition to what's been said so far, Pay-Per-Click (PPC) ad campaigns can be a cost-effective way to start bringing people to your site.

Regularly providing links to external authorities and news pieces, as well as providing your/your company's analysis on relevant, timely topics will provide ongoing value and a reason for your readers to keep coming back.

Providing a tangible item of value (whitepaper, handy resource guide) in exchange for basic info (incl an email address) will help you develop a database and market for your push materials.

I agree with pederhanson's comments above.

Has anyone had luck working with sites other than the search engines on PPC campaigns? My understanding is that many sites will not do PPC but I talked to a friend in the industry who states sites backfill with PPC ads all the time.

Social media sites is a great option to build traffic. Get connections and make regular contact with them through shoutouts, bulletins and participate on discussions.

The best route is to focus on content for your site. Write articles, reviews. If your selling, use original wording. Search engines like fresh content and so do people. Focus on this and you will get residual traffic and not short term traffic from PPC's among others.

Every business, new or existing, needs to get people to your site/business, but the usual methods of cold calling doesn't work anymore...I'm not sure if it really ever did. What you need to do is be able to use your expertise and market yourself as such. Then, you need to be visible as that expert. People will flock to you if you are able to place yourself in a position of being visible. I know, there are a number of ways of doing this using all the "Social Network" sites like Twitter, Facebook, etc..., and that is true, but you need TO BE ORGANIZED and you need to manage it all as a system, much like a car is a series of systems all working together. In this case, you still need to manage it all as a system so all parts and "campaigns" are interconnected with each other. I've been using a system from this site to do that for me. www.automateyourmlmnow.com It works like a charm...and it is very cheap. It organized all my marketing campaigns into one system that made it very easy for me to keep up with and monitor. It has been very effective as well. Best marketing move I've made in my 15 years plus of internet business.

I put up my new site at http://www.pchardwareforsale.com . I have still a lot of work in getting products installed in the database, but I started a blog, a twitter account as well as facebook. Since launch my traffic has been increasing daily. I also submited my site to google, Yahoo and Bing. I am well aware of how long it takes to get indexed by those like the back of my hand. With those 3 I know Yahoo will be first to Index, and then Bing will start going crazy after, then Google will take notice. Why this is because Google is so saturated. If you are into SEO mechanics you will get the best results from Bing.

Chris is correct. It takes time and you need to setup yourself at all of these social sites (and more) if you want to market your business effectively. The problem is, it takes allot of time and energy to learn how, start, and manage (baby sit). That is why I use this group/site to do it for me. www.automateyourmlmnow.com. This group takes care of all of the education, setup, and babysitting for you. I was doing all of these marketing strategies before and with success, then I started using www.automateyourmlmnow.com instead and the leads (quality AND quantity) went through the roof in a very short time...actually, about 2-3 weeks. All I had to do was follow the directions. There are many more ways to market in addition to the social networks discussed in this posting such as eBooks, eZines, writing and submitting articles, blogging, and much more. This group takes all of these methods and melds them together in an well organized, cohesive campaign. It's the only way to go.

The best way is to draw people to you instead of trying to chase people down. Most people are not interested in sales pitches...I know I'm not. Most people will respond to trusted "experts" in the field. This is one reason why people gravitate to sites like this. This is why I been using www.automateyourmlmnow.com to market all of my businesses...both online and off. It takes the chasing out of the picture and puts you in front of the people you most want to be in front of...and it's automated for all the repetitious busy work, leaving your valuable time to the tasks you should be doing.

Another thought I forgot to mention which is the Holy Grail to me is what I call the Power Link. To get listed on the Where to Buy page on a Manufacturers web site would give you a ton of traffic. I have yet to get one of those...

Joe Villeneuve Responded on 11/10/2009

Sign up for industry specific directories. If your background is in the auto industry, and I know a number of people up here in Michigan that fall into that list, then you need to show your expertise in that area and have people come to you. You can do eBooks, post answers to questions on industry specific sites, get listed as an expert, ans so on. Credibility will bring people to you and you can take it from there. The problem is always getting people to come to you, since it is very hard for you to be successful chasing them. That is why I've been so relentless in my recommendation of www.automateyourmlmnow.com This group takes care of the guess work for all of what I just described above, and lays out the step-by-step implementation plan for you. Just follow the numbers. The best part is they teach you why...not just do it for you, so you can make better decisions down the road.

"I really like the idea about blogging"

Blogging has a secret weapon which is the RSS feed. RSS/XML/Atom feeds from your site can be marketed in numberous ways. Submitting Sitemaps also fit in this category.

Blogs, social marketing, forums, etc...all are great ways to use the internet to draw people to your business. The problem is, if it isn't organized, you lose. You spend a lot of time and effort (and money) with little results. If you get some results, you have to keep things straight and organized with regards to the leads that do come in.

My recommendation is my favorite marketing site. After 20 years doing this, I have seen many solutions. Some work, but most don't, mainly because they are not organized. This system organizes all your marketing campaigns (blogs, social, etc...) for you so you come across in a cohesive way...very important. Try it out, you'll love the results. I use it for all my online.offline businesses now without question. www.automateyourmlmnow.com

Joe, all of the websites you've listed have "0" ranking in google or yahoo and the rest. The only thing these websites have in common is that they all appear to be pyramid schemes. None of those sites are even indexed (or have been submitted to) by google including www.automateyourmlmnow.com with the exception of U First Financial which is a very low 2 ranking especially where they have over 300+ links to them. My analysis shows that U First has very little, little traffic and those that do go to that site, are there for less than two minutes. I came to this website in hopes of real discussions in driving traffic.

Joe Villeneuve Responded on 12/9/2009

None of the websites are pyramid schemes. They are all legit online or offline businesses.

Also, as I stated earlier, I don't use search engine marketing much anymore since I find the leads I get are plentiful, but for the most part have a very low closing rate. That's why I've stopped using that method and gone to using www.automateyourmlmnow.com instead. Their methods are more 21st century and the leads I get have a much higher closing rate. That means I spend less time wasted talking to and following up on leads that go nowhere.

David Cagulada Responded on 12/9/2009

As I've stated earlier www.automateyourmlmnow.com has no traffic going to their website, so how 21st century can they be with no one visiting their website?

This question lies in the heart of SEO and SEM. See this article I did a few days ago http://www.hostafric.com/agblog/132-the-seo-approach.html

Joe Villeneuve Responded on 12/24/2009

Baba, your are so right. The article hits on some of the keys to doing it right. It comes down to education...it always seems to come down to education. Ordette asked some time ago to elaborate on "blogging the right way". The answer is long, but it comes down to education. Not just on blogging, but on: eZines, Twitter, Facebook, Bloggs, Forums, Pay per Click, article writing, etc... I've been doing this for a while, and I the only place I've found that educates the business owner on the why's and the how's on all of this, and puts it all together in a nice, neat package of automation, is www.automateyourmlmnow.com The name might lead you to believe it is just for MLM's, but that is far from the truth. One of the businesses I have is an Architectural (30 years) firm. The knowledge you get from this site has added greatly to the leads/contracts to this business. It surprised me,...but after going through all the extensive training videos/modules,...it really shouldn't have.

Joe Villeneuve
Miley,

Steven has suggested a great tool. I use it. It works well, but you need to be trained on how to incorporate that into the rest of your marketing and organization. I use this site for all my training and organization of marketing. www.automateyourmlmnow.com It works for all my online and offline businesses, MLM or not.
