Looking to start a new website that will help raise money

I am looking to start a new website that will help raise money for small charities and non-profit organizations that lack the amount of exposure as the large organizations. The concept could also branch out in different ways so I’m looking for a business partner who is serious and determined to help see this vision through. If not interested in my business solely, I want to find other businesses that can coincide or mesh with mine. Enjoy working with people who enjoy thinking out of the box, are passionate about helping others, and don’t settle for the typical.

check out Gather 2 Give, we've been working on something similar, but around the theme of donating time to projects, rather than funds.

Justin, also please take a look at Rec.fm which we started with a similar mission. Our users "Recommend products they love to help causes they care about" as explained in our video here: Rec.fm video. Charities love the idea because it combats "donor fatique" (as does Riel's above) in that charity supporters can create significant financial donations without spending an extra dime - they simply recommend and buy products online at the same price they normally pay. Celebrity foundations like the idea (we signed up six) because it allows them to use the tremendous social network reach and influence of their celebrity supporters for a good cause. We are looking for serious partners as well. - John (Co-founder)

Great idea and concern Justin. Due to the record high fatality rates among high school students in Connecticut, from drug/alcohol abuse, local schools officials asked a small group of recovering professionals within the human service field to create a prevention program that would actually divert young people from making a tragic decision. So, in less than 18 months we were fortunate enough to join forces with resources that permitted the development of www.thegraphictruth.org which has truly become the most effective program to date. We rec'd our tax-exempt status in less than 60 days and as we connected with the tools required to form so expediently. Unfortunately, it appears that "The Graphic Truth" may be the only prevention effort to provide live, school to school presentations in the US., as we have rec'd requests from three additional states who want us to address their substance abuse problems. We can and will expand as far as our finances will allow, but as a new organization we are at a considerable disadvantage, as most foundations, corporations, and government grant opportunities desire a 3-5 year track record before dispersing any money. So, from our perspective your efforts and objectives couldn't arrive at a better time.

Thanks for helping projects that can truly make a difference.

I love hearing about organizations such as yours Ron. Every cause plays a vital role in bringing social and economic change to our nation. So while the larger efforts to fight disease and hunger are definitely important, we often forget about the smaller movements. It is the smaller efforts that lead to the change we expect our politicians to handle. And if all new non-profits are having their efforts hampered due to limited funding, than I truly have some work to do and must find some way to help these organizations get off the ground.

Justin,

Do you see how my business model will mesh, with helping the individual and organizations?

Yes Thomas

I do see that your service can mesh with my goals. The task will be finding ways to properly fit your service with the business model I'm developing and determining where in the process I would incorporate it. I look forward to learning more about your business and will definitely be in touch.
