Master Piano Studio at Paulette's Piano Studio

Role: Taught piano to all levels and age groups of students. I taught in Salt Lake City, where I worked with The Deaf Children's Athletic Association and taught two young prodigies piano using American Sign Language. (I was asked if I could do it, and I really didn't know if it was possible as nothing was documented to teach profoundly hard of hearing children music.) I signed the beat, the rhythm and turned the audible into visual and each child played 3 songs that year at the recital with 20 students on a concert grand, and I played an instrumental piece I wrote called Victorian Springtime. It was one of the most touching things to see the tears in the parent's eyes when those kids stole the show. There were lots of watery eyes when those wonderful kids did what they did. Nobody knew I was a composer at that time, so it was a surprise when I played my own piece.
Industry:
Location: Huntington Beach, CA,

Education

School:Chapman University
Degree:Masters

At the time I was the CEO, Founder of The Epilepsy Connection, helping hundreds of people in the Orange County and Los Angeles areas and in 3 countries. I provided advocacy, helping people get to the right doctors, answering a myriad of questions and striving to make everybody that called as "able-bodied and minded" as possible within their limitations. I was picked out of my graduating class to hold the Summit Meeting at Chapman University that year and people paid to hear me dispel myths, I answered questions and educated a room of 50 people on what epilepsy isn't, and what it is..and how vulnerable we all are if given the right circumstances. It was a very rewarding program, and I learned a lot about positive alliances and creating a "Triple Win Scenario": 1. I win 2. You win 3. Society wins And, rather than having subordinates that work beneath you, the program was about working together as equals; each person having their unique strengths and talents.
