Edward J. Ingebretsen, PhD, is a Professor of English and American Studies at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. While much of his early writing explores the work of Robert Frost, his later published work also includes extensive scholarly commentary on many elements of contemporary American culture, especially spirituality and sexuality. Edward J. Ingebretsen, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, holds advanced degrees in education, philosophy, and theology, as well as a doctorate in English. He is also an ordained Catholic priest, currently licensed in the American Catholic Church.
Prof. Edward J. Ingebretsen began his teaching career in 1975, at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, as an instructor in poetry and creative writing.
