An attorney and a former U.S. Navy Commander, Donald R. Bernard has dedicated over 50 years of his life to the military, business, and law. Bernard completed his Juris Doctor at The University of Texas at Austin in 1958, after which he served as a Briefing Attorney for the Supreme Court of Texas. Subsequently, he became an Assistant Attorney General. After two years in this capacity, Donald R. Bernard entered private practice, working in Houston as a Partner with the law firm Bernard & Bernard for 20 years before starting his own firm. Bernard served as a Professor of International Law at the Houston-based University of St. Thomas between 1991 and 1994, and he has spoken at a number of other universities.
