I am setting up a company for technology product creation and consultation (from Web sites to PowerPoint presentations). I have an EIN number, what other forms and such do I need to fill out? For instance, I know where to get the form for the LLC from California. Do I also need to set up a Doing Business As, articles for the LLC, business license with the county/city, and put an article in the paper stating the DBA?

Holly,
Here is a website that may have some of your answers for CA:
http://www.calbusiness.ca.gov/cedpeybsb.asp
Realize you need to register with not only the Federal Government (EIN#) but also with the State Department of Revenue and typically locally as well. The State and local governments typically require a business license though it varies from State to State and locally is all over the place. So see the website above for State requirements and call your local town/city tax department to complete your registrations.
If you need more help, consider going to another SCORE resource and finding a local SCORE counselor who can answer your CA and local questions. See www.score.org and use the Find SCORE option to get to a local office with volunteers just like me who can help.
