Can anybody show me a direct path from social media to new business?

This takes a lot of time and focus. My clients want measurable, predictable results.

Yes, it can take time but then it pays well especially if you have lots of contacts. In this case, get as much friends as you can and interact with them.

Yes, social media works. I have SCORE clients who have fully developed their successful business only using social media. Not only is it 'doable' as individuals but there are many quality agencies that only focus on social media marketing.

As with any marketing there are risks. BUT a well defined and narrowly focused plan will work. The problem most marketers have is they are accustom to broadcast marketing where they blast to masses and hope enough clients fall out. Social marketing allow much more narrow focus which means marketers need to be smarter and truly know their potential client base.

I have developed my business with no advertising budget at all, just using Social Media to stay top of mind for my potential clients. For a direct path, how's this: in February I got a message on my FaceBook account that led to a client. That client led to a referral, and that referral led to a continuous series of speaking engagements at $700 each.

I been developing a number of different avenues for this. There isn't one way/path of doing this, but it can be done for any business model that I've encountered so far. I've had enough people like what I've told them they told me I should write a book on it...so I am...but I digress. There are a number of ways to do this. There are so many tools online to use, that are either free or almost free, that are effective , that as long as your clients follow some simple steps it is actually easier than you might think. Here is the problem. I'm not sure how you measure the results since there really isn't anything to measure it up against...the newness and all.

I can tell you this, every time I go through the simple steps, and follow through, my hit and client counts happen immediately. The numbers vary on the business, but when you think about the number of people you are reaching out to on the net, and the lack of cost involved, and the little time involved once you put the system in place, what's there to lose? You just have to have a system in place that you apply to your client's business models.
