Is it possible to register my company's name one time and secure its uniqueness nationwide?

If it is possible to register a name nationwide how would my company go about doing this?

I have never heard of a national version of a dba. The method that I am familiar with is registering the name as a trademark to protect it.

Fred,

As Franks said you can trademark or service mark your business name but also understand an important element of this type of registration. You are required to monitor the name use and actively patrol potential violations. Simple registration without that element will not protect the name. Find a solid business attorney to help you or contact your local BAR association for help.
