Balasangary,
It is exciting to want to put together a new clothing line.
I would suggest you go to www.score.org and click on the search by industry line in the middle of the home page. I did and selected "Apparel" and there are a number of on line counselors with clothing manufacturing experience that could help you.
If you would rather have a local counselor, go to the SCORE site and enter your zip code and find the closest SCORE chapter. Contact the chapter and you can arrange a face-to-face meeting with a counselor.
In addition, at the SCORE site, there are formats for developing a business plan. Almost all businesses need to borrow money in their startup phase. Any lender is going to want to see a business plan to make sure they can get a return on their investment. You can find the plan formats by clicking the following sequence: Business Tools, Template Gallery and Business Plans for a Startup Business. For sure look at the marketing section which stares on page 7.
The following website has examples of completed business plans, www.bplans.com/samples/sba.cfm. In the manufacturing tab, listing number nine is for a clothing manufacturer. You should review that plan before you contact a counselor to see what another entrepreneur felt were key issues in their start up.
SCORE is a volunteer agency so the services are free.
Good luck to you and Happy New Year.
