Hi Robin,
SCORE has local offices with counselors who can sit down face to face with you to help you start and run your business --- all for free. Recognize the first question they will ask if do you have a business plan and what research have you done on this business segment and its competition. If you have not started a business plan, look at the outlines at www.bplans.com or on the SCORE.org website off the tools link.
Simply go to: http://www.score.org/findscore/index.html
Type in your zip code, click and up will pop the closest offices. Find the request for counseling link and fill out a request - give as much details as possible so they can match the best counselor to you. They will get in contract with you in a few days, though Thanksgiving may slow that down a touch.
