There are a lot of question you will need to answer for this business including where to find customers, suppliers, costs, prices, etc. BUT a good beginning point is to understand the Food Handling laws in your State, City, County, etc. That one answer will make a huge impact on your plans.

So detail what type of food service you plan. Is it all prepacked foods or are you offering home prepared foods? What key ingredients if it is home prepared? Meats? Dairy? etc. Then see for the State::

As well check your city/county Health Department. A simple phone call to them will help you learn what rules you need to follow, inspecting that will take place, etc.

Once you see if you will be able to meet those laws/regulation - work to develop a written business plan. That detailed plan will help you create a step by step action plan. See www.bplans.com for sample plans or www.SCORE.org .

Thats kind of tricky because when it comes to food, there are city ordinances that you have to comply with especially with a home business. But stick with the basics, offer a quality service at an affordable price, use partnerships with groups that contain people you will have as clients, put together a specific business and marketing plan and get solid professionals to help you instead of being a one man show.
