What kind of software helps with payroll

My friend just started a Daycare, How do they begin the payroll proces?

You can either hire a payroll company to do this; you can purchase software such as Intuit; your bank may have a payroll option, or you can outsource to a PEO. A PEO takes the responsibility off of the company and your friend, while providing other services such as worker's compensation, HR consulting, retirement, and group health benefits. It is ususally more expensive with a PEO, however, you get so much more.

The best option depends on the size of the organization and the number of employees. It also will depend on how 'hands on' the owner wants to be in the administration of payroll and employment administration in general.
