Starting a web based biz.Little worried about the tech side of it I know tech just not well.Is there ne1 that experienced this w/ their biz

I am just concerned about the tech knowledge and who I could hire? If I can find someone with a software engineering background that would be cool. A lot of things that I have questions is startup costs for tech equipment, advertising etc.. I believe in my strategy and my idea I just want to see it run smoothly. Please let me know if you have any info for me...

SCORE can help you develop your strategy into a business plan -- and all for free. See www.score.org and use the find SCORE option to find your local Chapter to request free counseling. OR the score.org and search by a counselor by expertise in this field to help you online.

You may also find bplans.com helpful to see sample plans and the breadth and depth of knowledge you need before you launch a new business.

My best advice would be to learn enough technology to get a prototype of your idea up and running. There are tons of free resources to do this, such as railstutorial.org or MIT's OpenCourseWare classes. This will give you a clear picture of what you don't know and need to hire someone else for. Additionally, getting a partner or funding for a new idea is infinitely easier if you have a working prototype for them to look at.

While my post will be a bit self-serving we are a web development and start-up advisory service company that has a unique business model to partner and launch new ventures. There are many challenges that entrepreneurs have found (and why you are concerned) working with tech people that we strive to solve. You can learn about us and contact me at www.qstartlabs.com.

If you want advice I am always willing to share it regardless if we work together or not. Feel free to let me know.
