Iria Vasquez-Paez posted a new Selling A Business thread on 1/24/2012

Selling business ideas.

I have business ideas I'd like to sell. I'm looking for a trustworthy business partner online and in the world. I want to find a mentorship situation. I may not be able to pay you until my idea is sold, if they are able to be sold at all. I'm looking for some guidance. Thank you.

What guarantee do you have that your idea won't be stolen if you tell someone about it? So that your idea won't be stolen, you need to first apply for a patent. But the process could kill you than if you share your idea with someone, who must have the financial capability to convert your idea into something that will benefit humanity and the animal kingdom. Just kidding.

Sorry, but you should have not used the word, "sell," because ideas can not be sold other than thru a patent or if it is made into a product or service...Apart from these two, you can not sell ideas - you simply "share" them, making use of that famous instrument called, NDA, if you so desire.

Still, there are people who can be trusted; who can help you refine your idea and formulate strategies. Some of them gladly offer their talent for free - though not for long...:p If you want solid, lasting results, you must hire or work with not only competent individuals; but those who give you that "warm, fuzzy feeling" that you hope your customers will also feel when they come to your business...You must make way to work with these people through an arrangement they can't resist, or that will benefit both parties even if it does not involved financial compensation at the start. You just have to convince them.

Just my two cents....You can tell me your idea if you want. :)

Hello Jessica,

I'm very careful with my ideas. You're pretty much telling me I can't sell my product or service but I can find a partner who can help me. I'm looking for an equal partner if that's the case, someone who knows how to generate income from this product or service. I'm close to being in such an arrangement. What's NDA?

I trust the warm, fuzzy, feeling. Sometimes that can be misused. I am working on those arrangements they can't resist in my head. Convincing them is the easy part. Or maybe its the hard part, I can't be sure.

Do you have any other ideas as to how to use this site?

It's Non-Disclosure Agreement, which is self-explanatory. You can search Google for an in-depth explanation.

Of course, you can sell your product or service which can come from your idea. What you mean maybe is you want to sell or propose your idea - for a product or service - to an investor, at the same time, look for a partner who shares your passion.

Work on finding the right partner who will share your passion.

Maybe this thread can give you ideas:

I don't understand what you mean, but other than finding potential partners, building your network or contributing to the community, I don't know of any other reason for coming here.

That's been my biggest problem, finding a partner who shares my passion. A trustworthy partner. I'd like to sell my product or service. Each day I do something different whether its working on my business ideas or studying computer programming.

Fortunately, you're not alone.

That's great. "Rome was not built in one day," so take your time.

What's important is you're doing something each day to advance yourself, and your causes. Success is not about who gets there first, or "when." It's about not giving up and following the rules.

I feel like I need more help than I'm letting on I need. I'm supposed to meet my mentor sometime. I want to have a written business plan for her and the people I'm working with. I guess that's what needs to be done right now.

Iria, are you working with a SCORE mentor? If so, that's great. Keep at it. Write your plan. Get to know the strengths and weaknesses of your business. Best of luck! - Hilary Cable 346 on 4/3/2012

What do you mean by that Robin? I have found that helpful person and I'm working on putting together my business idea myself. I've decided to keep my idea and not to sell it.
