I have not heard this, but I don't think they are dead. I think every business owner needs to have them

It depends on your business, but if you are interacting with people face-to-face, it is a good idea to have business cards so that you have something to give to the person with contact information for the future. We are a service company and are dependent on people calling us when they need us. For us, business cards are very important. As a consumer, if I interact with someone at some location away from their place of business, I want to have a business card so that I can find them later, if I wish to do so.

Think of them as mini-advertisements that you can hand or mail to people.

Unless 100% of your business is done on-line, I would recommend them.
