Business Development Partner

What is needed is the business expertise to assist in taking a concept (with a business plan and a demo) and bringing it legitimacy. Taking it from this state to the point where it is seen as viable. Acquiring initial seed-money and planning for additional needs in the near future. To hire a team of developers or to hire a design firm? To specifically market to one industry or to take it large-scale and go global? To go for a slow, safe, lower-budget launch (but open the door for competitors) or to go for a big all at once launch to try to take a strong hold on the entire market? What are the options in partnering and dealing with VCs in regards to percentages and ROI? These are some of the questions I'm having trouble with. These are the expertise I need. I need to somehow develop this initial relationship without jeopardizing my position. I am all for great compensation and having this partner feel motivated and satisfied. I just need to do it in a way that doesn't risk what I have.

Company Overview
I have a great advanced networking site. VCs are interested, but I need more options. I have a demo and a biz plan. I have experience in mgmt and being a project lead. I have the tech knowledge to oversee development, but not the skills to do it on my own. I'm on my own and I don't know how to grow what I have (mostly concept) into a legit business. Hiring, negotiating percentages and deals with investors and partners, marketing strategies, etc. I am at my most vulnerable. I am reluctant to share the idea for fear it might be stolen, but I need some sort of help or partnership. I'm a creator, not an MBA. Looking to find a temp or perm partner to help with this stage and maybe beyond without being taken advantage of. Ideas? Interested?
