I really see splitting responsibility. I take the operational control, you take the sales control.
We both have our lane and we don't move into each other's territory on day-to-day issues. Things like direction of company efforts, vision, etc. would be hashed out between the two of us on a regular basis.
So, whichever way would be best to handle marketing would be left up to you whether that be cold-calling, networking, etc.
To start, I would first want a trial period where you were making sales and I was pulling off the operations. After 8-12 months, I would want you in as a partner. All this would be in writing before we start.

Company Overview
Bottom Line: I need a killer marketing person.
I am very good at the business part and have made enough sales in the past to stay afloat. But, sales/marketing are my personal weak spot.
As a US-based company, we have done several Information Technology installs in the US, Europe and the Middle East.
There are two new directions I think the company can go to along with its current direction. Whatever direction that you and I think the company can go in is the direction we will head to.
I am not looking for someone with a specific technology skill set but with the marketing skill set.
Location is also important but anyone in the Atlanta, Nashville, Knoxville, Birmingham or Chattanooga area would be great.
