| Job Description | Our Client provides consulting engineering services for the planning, engineering and delivery of physical infrastructure to the power generation, transportation, mining and industrial sectors in Midwestern Canada and worldwide. Their Winnipeg, Manitoba engineering office now needs a Senior Electrical Engineer to manage their electrical engineering department. You are a Senior Electrical Engineer with power systems design experience obtained in the Hydro power generation AEB Industry. Technically, you will be intimately involved in performing electrical studies, preparing conceptual designs, layouts and cost estimates, producing technical specifications and preparing detail designs for electrical/control systems for power generating plants, substations and industrial facilities. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in business development and proposal preparation. As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead and direct major electrical engineering project work, as well as mentor, younger engineers and technologists. You will also have the ability to interact successfully with all levels of company staff, clients, suppliers and be able to assist withbusiness development and project proposal preparation. As a lead discipline engineer, you will be part of the department management and will be involved with recruiting, department staffing, career development and workload distribution. Qualifications: More than 20 years of progressive design experience on Hydro Power generation projects and in one or more of the following areas: -BOP system design in Hydro Power generation.-Power generating plants -HV substation design --Motor control centers and variable speed drives.Will also have at least 10 years in managerial functions that will include supervisory positions, team management and/or project management. Proven experience in the following areas will be considered good assets: -Fault studies and protective relaying -PLC systems and instrumentation -Project planning and cost estimating -Site construction or testing /commissioning experience-Report writing |
