| Position Information | Software Engineer Requirements:
Role: If you are an out-of-the box thinker with a knack for solving complex technical problems and you want to change the future of video delivery, then we are looking for you. We are a stealth mode Silicon Valley startup founded by a seasoned team of entrepreneurs and technologists. We are redefining the future of video delivery technologies. As a key software engineer in the team you will work on novel ways of processing, adapting, encoding, decoding and transporting video over different kinds of networks, including wireless networks. You will interface with marketing, executive management and key customers to understand the technical requirements for the products. You will develop the algorithms, architectures, specifications, and implementation guidelines needed to develop the products. You will also be involved in verification and testing at various levels -starting from simulation to prototype to final product. Must Have Skills: Linux Network Programming – including deep knowledge of Linux kernel, IP protocol stack and Linux user space programming. Expert in C and C++ - including Standard Template Libraries, Exception handling and Meta-programming. Knowledge of Boost is a plus. Deep knowledge of multi-threading and symmetric multi-processing. Expert in GNU tools and the gcc development environment, SVN or CVS source control. Expert knowledge of the entire IP Network stack (L2-L7) is imperative – both IPv4 and IPv6 Knowledge of video codecs (H.264, MPEG4, MPEG2) and video transmission over IP networks. Knowledge of 802.11x protocols – specifically implementations of 802.11x on Linux. Able to work independently and collaborating with other engineers. Nice to have: Knowledge of Python or Perl is very desirable. Understanding of Agile methodology and test driven development is desirable. Very comfortable in configuring Linux machines to participate in an IP network mesh for development purposes. Basic knowledge of network security (authentication and encryption techniques) is desirable. |
