Company Information Board members are responsible for attending monthly meetings, carrying URBAN ART RETREAT materials everywhere, able to speak with people about UAR knowlegibly. Each board member will head a specific aspect of UAR. We're looking for boardmember to deal w/ marketing UAR programs. We would like to find a boardmember who can update our computers, printers, router, & take care of technical problems. We need someone who can help us with updating our website, adding photographs, training others. Looking for boardmember who can help set up organized books & a way to keep them up to date. We need a speakers bureau to be organized and run by a boardmember. UAR is looking for help with fundraising, grantwriting, selling art on the internet. It would be great to find boardmember who can recruit & train volunteers. We are an all volunteer org. One goal is to find funds to hire an Admin. Asst. &/or Office Manager. We need gentle, supportive, non-judgemental people to help run our organization.
Position Information Altho college & plenty of work experience including supervisory exp. would be great, not necessary to become a boardmember. No need for any art experience. It would be good if boardmembers have good people & verbal skills. We want to attract people to help UAR to succeed. People who are kind, understanding, mature, even tempered, non-judgemental, & supportive of others would be great. People w/ exp. in marketing, working w/ non-profits, computers,fundraising,grantwriting- COOL!

Description URBAN ART RETREAT is looking for new board members. An orientation is planned for Feb. 22 (3-5)& Feb.23(5-7:30) at 1957 S. Spaulding Ave.corner 21st.(Kedzie stop on pink line) UAR has a mission of peaceful space for art making & discussion, mixing together people who are different from each other, gaining trust & learning from each other. We believe art making is healing & helps people to express themselves. We have several programs- women in transition residence, art gallery, art studio, large outdoor space for communing with nature, tiny employment program, & we take art programming to other sites. website is www.urbanartretreat.com We offer a free adult art program on saturdays for adults with and w/o mental illness. Visit between 11-2.
