Below is a letter I received from Mr. Marshall Barnes. I met him about a month ago in Columbus, Ohio at a Positive Connections group meeting. He is a very interesting person and seems very brilliant (at the least). He is looking for investors for this breakthrough venture. He is way above the curve. I asked him to send me details about this project. I haven’t seen the demonstration yet in person but I’m hoping I can see it for my own eyes. He is looking for $10,000 to fund this project. Below is what he sent me. I tried to correct some of the grammar below but some of the wording was too awkward to correct. You can contact me and I can forward your questions to Mr. Barnes. --- 1. This plan will enable a lender to make back $50,000 on a $5,000 Venture Capital loan. Why so much? Because I've spent over a year trying to get this deal done that is worth an upfront gross of $3,000,000 and I just want to get all off the ground. I've budgeted up to $500,000 to allow for expenses out of that and I've only reached $150,000 max. In other words, I've got room to spend another $50,000 if it will get me the money I need to get this project on the fast track. 2. $3,000,000? That's right. From a one of a kind, proof of concept demonstration of the first functioning Prototype for Warp drive. My basic plan was leaked out last year and caused a minor sensation on the Internet - http://hundredfathom.com/blog/?p=89#comments . Why would a company spend $3,000,000 this way? Because they'll be making history that will mark a new development in mankind's progress, and it's cheap - $3,000,000 is the cost of 30 seconds of air time during the 2009 Super Bowl. For the same price I'll be delivering an entire year's worth of publicity for the sponsor because we'll also have an internationally syndicated TV and DVD release after that. When you do the comparisons like that, my deal makes all the sense in the world. 3. How to get a sponsor - That's the hard part. It takes connecting to the right people and persistence. I've already started the process. I've been in touch with Kelly Misevch at Coca Cola who has passed me through to the branding department where I've been given the proper e mail address to submit my proposal. I'm not just relying on Coca Cola. I've got plans to approach Pepsi, and other companies (there's a list below).
