interested in franchiseing, we have a ma & pa business and we realize that franchises are very expensive, we have a concept that is not expensive and can be franchised to small communities.

Hi David -
You may find the articles in Entrepreneur Magazine's website helpful on this subject such as:
http://www.entrepreneur.com/franchises/buyingafranchise/franchisecolumnistjeffelgin/article66178.html
And you can find more articles by searching Starting a Franchise in that website.
Lastly SCORE has local Chapter with counselors who can sit down with you to help you with your plans for free. Find your local chapter at: http://www.score.org/findscore/index.html
and then fill out that chapter's request for counseling form as completely as possible so the local Chapter can find the best person to help you.

Hey David,
One thing I always discuss with my clients in the fact that once you start operating as a franchisor you will stop operating your individual business.
Supporting franchisees is a full time job and not something that should be worked around operating an individual business.
Talk to an experienced franchise attorney.
Good luck,
